Daybook March 2, 2009

Outside my window... A heavy wind (15-25mph per B. who headed to the beach to catch a windsurfing session) blows the fronds of the Areca palm that B. transplanted yesterday. The fuscia bougenvilla climbs the white post with swaying bamboo in the background (the same bamboo B. did an initial harvest of a few weeks ago, to make a bamboo swing.)

I am thinking... Isn't the internet fun! And such a great way to connect with kindred spirits: family, friends and people you've never met FTF but who share your passion. You can find beauty hidden in every nook and cranny ... art, music, film. It's amazing.

I've been learning... I just finished Week 1 of Reiki Level 1 through the hospice. It was wonderful to be in a class with an interesting and caring group of hospice staff and volunteers, (a self-selected universe of kindness) and I look forward to using this calming therapy with patients.

I am thankful for... the people in my life ... Billy, of course, first and foremost, and family, friends, and of course the sweet girl, Daisy

From the kitchen... Nuttin cookin' ... Yesterday I baked whole wheat bread. For lunch, today, I made a tuna pasta dish.

I am wearing... Trusty khaki capris and a black and white print stretchy cami (one I like to wear to yoga). It's definitely sleeveless shirt weather here.

I am reading... Half into: 1916 set in Ireland, and Merle a dog,

I am hoping... my anemia thing is not something serious and I can resolve the difference of opinion between the two docs.

I am creating... This morning I worked on K.Dem website.

I am hearing... Wind in the trees. It's very windy. Gusts come through and make a ruckus.

Around the house... Daisy is snoozing in the living room. She was here beside me on the rug, but then wanted more creature comforts.

One of my favorite things... Daisy and how settled down she has become now at age 5 and is now a certified therapy dog and does such a great job visiting our hospice friends.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Go to the library to pick up reserved books

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

I took this shot in a lovely English village several years ago,
back in the good old days when I used to take trips with mom.
