Jonathan Singer came out of nowhere to astound the botanical world with his precise portraits of flowers. Beautifully composed with a painter’s eye, his images are all the more remarkable for the speed with which he works: “I see it, I feel it, I shoot it,” he says. Did we mention that he still has his day job, as a podiatrist? Here’s a selection of photos from Singer’s upcoming Botanica Magnifica, a five-volume folio that will appear at the Smithsonian this spring.
