pressed ferns

I just tested microwaving ferns and leaves. Kinda shriveled so now I'm googling on HOW. They say: press between 4 sheets paper towel and plain paper on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. (I'll try an old book next) ... and below: inspiration for the results:Framed Botanical Art: Framed Pressed
Fern Picture on Handmade Paper
There is something to be said for the serene simplicity of a fern picture, it remains one of the most popular selections of those who collect botanical art. This finely cut fern is mounted on handmade paper, mounted on dark green mat board, emphasizing the naturally rough deckle edge of the handmade paper. The picture is framed in a handsome metal frame with a textured "aged bronze" finish, with acid-free matting and UV resistant glass.
